Keeping the wind in your face. One of my passions is bowhunting in the backcountry. Being a flat lander, one of the best ways for me to get my legs and lungs prepared for the Rocky Mountains is trail running. On one of my stints on the Appalachian Trail, I struck up a conversation with a couple at the Bears Den and we were discussing gear, adventures that we have been on and were planning to do. A go on my trail runs.

We found this castle in Colmberg and checked it out. Stairs going into the wall. One of the entries through the wall. The wall that helped save Rothenburg. We had the opportunity to go into one of the towers to take some photos. It is the only tower left that is open to the public.

Saturday, April 12, 2014. Do you recall a few years back when I decided get in shape for my first ultra via my couch to 50k plan. Mid-winter I decided it was time to return to me. I figured if I got in it would be time to get my butt back in gear. With a fair amount of excitement and trepidation I put in for Cascade Crest 100 mile this August. And guess what? Saturday, January 18, 2014. It was a beautiful day for a fat ass.
